Why is Whistler Bike Park such a big freaking deal?

In a recent poll, it seems that 78% of you have never been to a lift access bike park like Whistler, which is actually pretty unsurprising. Some of these places are not easy to get to, and some of you aren't even that interested in downhill. Nevertheless, "Whistler" pops up a lot in MTB news as well as RSclub, and most of this content presumes you have certain knowledge about the place.
Some of you may feel that you have "stupid" questions about it, but I feel that no such questions exist.
This video is meant to serve as an introduction to Whistler so that other videos are easier to understand. If this upload isn't up to normal standards, it's because I produced it on location.
Thanks to Mike, Jordan, and Alexander for helping me with clips!

Whistler is near our home but we rarely do the downhill thing 'cuz WB is so killer for TRAIL too. It's endless, the municipality itself invests $150 thousand/yr in new hike/bike trail construction and upgrades. That doesn't include what the mountain itself does. Lots of places to camp to keep it affordable.

Thats cool and all but, did you know why Gru is the most powerful villain. First according to the height of a Minion (which is 3.5 feet on average) Gru is 4 minions tall, which means he is a godly size of 14 feet tall. Furthermore if any of you remember the original Despicable Me, you know there is a scene when Vector kidnaps the three girls and shoots a series of heat-seeking misses at Gru, he then dodges them all. According to the speed of an average ballistic missile (1900 mph) and the size of the missile according to his ankle size, Gru can perceive and move at such a speed that the missiles only move 9.5 miles per hour, 0.5% of their original speed. After this Gru punches a shark and it is paralyzed meaning its spine is probably shattered, to remind you it would require a force greater than 3,000 newtons to fracture the spine. That’s equal to the impact created by a 500-pound car crashing into a wall at 30 miles per hour. I rest my case.

I really enjoyed them, as me and my kids are trying to get up the nerve and skill to try a guided green trail somewhere. It would need to be on rental bikes as the kids still ride “ wall-goose” style bikes, or extremely entry level bikes like a marlin 5, and hotrock 24”. Any recommendations on how to progress? ... on a Budget.

I'd say get them a cross country bike from specialized. Cross country bikes like that are great starter bikes that can ride green trails and some blues. If you are all in get them a good hardtail to start on from diamondback or trek. Hardtails are great starter bikes too.

Where I live, in Australia NSW, my only options that I know of for major bike parks is the snowy mountains, in winter it's a snowboardering and skiing place. When the summer rolls around it apperently turns into a bike park. The blue mountains isn't really a bike park. It is a national park with bike trails, I heard there are a few.
